BIRTHDAY BOOK BONANZA

As part of my many birthday treats my girlfriend had the foresight to buy me ‘Scorsese On Scorsese’ from the Faber and Faber directors series. Having been a fan of Scorsese since first seeing GOODFELLAS/CASINO and RAGING BULL for part of my 'Moving Images' module at college, I am thrilled at the prospect of getting to hear what this intelligent filmmaker has to say about his bold and often brutal work.

Sticking to this theme I have ordered ‘Lynch On Lynch’ from www.play.com

David Lynch has long been a director I admired for his grasp of how to capture the brooding power of the oneiric in his films. To date I have only seen a handful of titles from his oeuvre, most of which have left me baffled but enthralled. Indeed, I look forward to picking up suggestions for further viewing from within the pages of this, my latest bought film tome.

If anyone out there has read these books or has recommendations from the Faber and Faber series please feel free to leave comments.

Haha! Found you! Not sure if you want me snooping around here when you haven't officially announced the site, but I was looking through my site's access logs and I noticed that people were visiting my own site from here. Anyway, great to see you've got the thing up and running.

And happy birthday, by the way. When is/was the big day?

Hey Michael, good to hear from you! No worries about looking around the site. It is still very early stages and I need all the traffic I can get, lol!

Unfortunately, I have been so busy at work I am yet to post on the daily basis I am aspiring to.

My birthday was back on the 18th, although I did have celebrations for the whole week, milking it for every last hour, lol!

I got loads of great stuff and will post about my goodies in the near future. For the time being I am going to be away. I am off to Rhodes in Greece with the girlfriend this evening. Be back in a week's time where I promise to post on a regular basis. I'll also get that BLOOD AND BLACK LACE dvd out to you we spoke of. Really looking forward to an image comparison by your goodself on that baby!

Ciao for now paisan.

The Count

No problem - I'm looking forward to seeing a somewhat better version od Blood and Black Lace - the US release just isn't particularly good. Do you mind if I add a link to your site on mine?

So! It seems my fame has spread far and wide, as people surreptitiously link to my blog. Eventually all web pages shall link to my blog, as it is the reason the internet was invented! BWAHAHAHAHAHA!

I like your blog. Unfortunately livejournal doesn't let me easily link to other websites like blogger does, so I can't really reciprocate. Sorry about that. And happy birthday! I see you are not constrained by region encoding. Alas, I am not one of these happy few...
